Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 May 2026
The Red Light Review ("we", "us", "the site") is a podcast review and discussion site at theredlight.review. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how to remove it. See also our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Account info from sign-in providers. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from that provider. We do not receive your password.
- Comments and submissions. Anything you post on the site (e.g. comments on episodes) is stored alongside your display name and account ID.
- Acceptance of Terms. When you sign in we record the date and version of our Terms of Service that were in effect.
- Server logs and analytics. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and Microsoft Clarity collect standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, page viewed — to operate and improve the site. Clarity may also record anonymized session interactions (clicks, scrolls).
- A session cookie. When you sign in we set a signed cookie so we know it's you on subsequent requests. It contains your account ID, not personal data.
How we use it
- To let you sign in and post comments under your name.
- To moderate comments and prevent abuse.
- To understand traffic patterns and improve the site.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't post anything to your Google or Facebook account.
- We don't share your email address with advertisers or third parties beyond the operational providers listed below.
Service providers
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, edge functions, database (Cloudflare D1).
- Google and Meta — OAuth sign-in providers; they receive a request when you choose to sign in with them.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized usage analytics.
- Acast — podcast audio hosting and embedded player.
Your rights and how to delete your data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. See Data deletion instructions, or email tips@theredlight.review from the address tied to your account. We respond within 30 days.
If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove the connection in your Facebook settings under Settings → Apps and Websites; doing so triggers our deauthorization handler, and we remove the linked account on our end.
Children
The Red Light Review covers adult subject matter and is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we materially change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, where reasonable, notify signed-in users on next visit.
